conversion of an existing 1960s building used as a casino and bank. new bank areas – banking hall and consultation rooms – over three floors. conversion of the façade and the casino entrance area on the ground and first floors.

the aim of the conversion was to remove various additions, returning to the originally clear zoning of the building, and to create a striking new overall identity. the decluttered ground floor is brought together into a unified base by a generous framing gesture. the various entrances are articulated as independent spatial interventions, embedded in the overarching frame. the whole area from the upper floor to the roof structure is emphasised as a uniformly redesigned volume by a curtain-wall glass façade. a wave and area graphic applied as film to the glass façade spans associations from the plateau landscape of the ifen area opposite to dynamic movement in general. thanks to the translucent film, depending on the light the whole building appears self-luminous, translucent or transparent, changing in harmony with the seasonal changes of its surroundings.

the themes “living body of light” and “dynamic movement” continue in the bank's interior, in the design of the counters and the reception upstairs. in addition, the ground-floor casino restaurant offers passers-by public added value in the form of a stepped terrace leading from the restaurant to the pavement.
