Distribution of functions
All the required uses are accommodated in a compact two-storey building. An elongated volume extending along Urbanstraße floats above the depot embedded in the terrain. Making use of the terrain rising to the west creates an additional, step-free level for the fire brigade and the general public. Coming from the south – as if in greeting – the view opens onto the new cantilevered training room, visible from afar.
Access
Entrances and exits are placed so that a friendly new village square with a balanced skyline greets visitors coming from the south. The depot and the farmers' market are accessed via the new road to be built east of the site. The fire brigade, on the other hand, is accessed centrally from Urbanstraße. The 25 parking spaces for the firefighters are in the north of the site. A generous landscape of steps with an integrated step-free ramp leads from Urbanstraße to the main entrance.
Outdoor areas
Sealed outdoor areas are reduced to a minimum and limited to the whole depot area and necessary access routes, including the fire brigade's
forecourt. The remaining areas are either fully planted or, where necessary as with the car parks, laid with planted grass pavers. A suitable design is also planned for the new multi-purpose community garden between the farm shop and the existing “Marterl” (wayside shrine), where benches and the like now invite people to linger.
