The new accommodation building fits seamlessly into the existing structure and takes its cue from the building lines of existing listed buildings. By deliberately moving away from the western boundary, not only can trees worth preserving remain, but a semi-public forecourt is also created towards the neighbouring, functionally related accommodation building. A crossing point between the existing passages of the western accommodation buildings, the parade ground and the service building opposite is given architectural form and designed as the meeting point of the new building.
