mi-e-tgestalten – participation in the planning process of subsidised rental housing
Located between the Südwestfriedhof cemetery and the Rosenhügel allotment estate, in the southernmost part of Meidling, a new residential quarter will be built over the next few years on an area of around 11 hectares, led by Wildgarten Entwicklungsgesellschaft m.b.H. .
‚mietgestalten’ is a hybrid of a “classic” rental flat and a self-organised co-housing project. Commissioned by EGW-Heimstätte , communal living with the future tenants involved in the planning process was created here in two buildings with a total of 44 flats.
‚mietgestalten’ is intended for people who want to help plan their home and its surroundings and live in a lively neighbourhood. The flats were built as subsidised housing and let by the developer for rent plus a small personal contribution, with no purchase option. Moderated by raum&kommunikation , the concept of two house communities was implemented, which helped design the building and formed new house communities.
The landscape design was handled by YEWO-Landscapes .
